Fri September 17: 12th Annual FACC Autumn Golf Classic at Cog Hill Golf and
Country Club, Lemont, IL. Open to everyone who has an interest in FACC and golf, the

August
Sat August 21: Third annual Finnish School Summer Olympics in DuPage River Park,
Naperville, IL. Fun is provided for children and adults alike in the form of a cell phone
target toss, boot tossing, sack hopping, egg carrying, Finnish darts and a hula hoop relay.
There will be a raffle for the adults, fishing game for the kids and food off the grill for
everyone. $10 per family or $5 per individual. Event starts at 1 pm, DuPage River Park

Fri August 6: Barflies/Baarikärpäset on the outside patio of Topo Gigio (1516 North
Wells Street, Chicago) starting at 6:00 pm. Chicagoland Finnish-American organizations
jointly invite all friends of Finland to fun and casual bar nights every first Friday of the
month.

Tue July 13: Cooking with Finlandia Vodka and Chef Sara La Fountain dinner event at
the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel, 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Attendees will be
treated to two appetizers, an entrée and dessert prepared from locally sourced ingredients
and touches of Finlandia Vodka. Each course will also be paired with a cocktail as

Fri May 7: Barflies/Baarikärpäset at Kitty O'Shea's (Hilton Hotel & Towers, 720 S.
Michigan Ave) starting at 5:30 pm. Chicagoland Finnish-American organizations jointly
invite all area Finns (and Finns at heart!) to fun and casual bar nights every first Friday of
the month. No agendas, presentations, hand-outs or speeches, just informal conversation
in English or Finnish and a pleasant way to start the weekend.
Sat May 1: Annual FASM Vappu Party at Estonian House, Riverwoods, IL. Event starts
at 6 pm, with cash bar, hors d'oeuvres, sima, dinner, entertainment and dancing. More

Green Public Diplomacy: Sustainability as Finland’s Message in the US. 3:30 pm in
